Good Spirits Be With You

The Objective

Release the album into stillness, blessing, peace and hope.

Composer's Blueprint

Signature motif

G-B-A-G, three-note blessing cadence.

Harmonic engine

G-D/F# - Em7 - Cadd9; free outro suspends Dsus4.

Prosody — lyric emphasis

Leave literal silence after each spoken blessing. Do not fill breaths with instruments.

Emotional-frequency automation

Percussion gradually disappears; bass exits; final third of track is voice, harmonic guitar/flute, then room decay.

Transition — ending cue

Final unresolved overtone fades rather than a hard cadence.

Instruments

• Spoken / lead voice: Very close-mic, calm and reverent. Leave generous silence between the blessing phrases.
• Acoustic guitar: Simple 3/4 fingerpicked pattern. Let the natural resonance remain audible.
• Ambient electric guitar: Natural harmonics and very slow volume swells. Use long reverb decay. No busy lead line.
• Flute / whistle: Optional pastoral color. Enter only in instrumental spaces and never compete with the blessing.
• Bass: Extremely sparse; long sustained roots, entering after the vocal has established the atmosphere.
• Drums: Soft entrance only. Minimal 3/4 pulse, then disappear completely before or during the spoken blessing.
• Piano / keys: Single sustained tones or widely spaced chords. Let silence do part of the work.
• Pads: Very quiet, wide and slow-moving. Remove low frequencies so the acoustic guitar and voice remain clear.
• Final guitar: Sustained natural harmonic with a long reverb tail. Allow the recording to decay naturally into silence.
• Backing vocals: Optional breath-like sustained harmony on the final chorus; none under the spoken blessing.
• Dynamics: The album closes by releasing energy rather than adding it. The listener should be left with space, peace and hope.

The notes and instruments stand exactly as created — skilled musicians can already play this music as written.
